What Do I Do All Day Long? The Truth About Eating Bon-Bons on My Chaise-lounge

My friends ask me all the time: Esther, what do you do all day long? They have this romantic vision of a glamorous card reader who does nothing all day long but hangs around in silk robes, reads the cards when a Captain Midnight soul shows up on her doorstep, and munches on bon-bons on her chaise-lounge in the interim...maybe filing her nails too, if she is in a creative mood. Well, my friends, nothing can be further from the truth, nothing; and here I am Bratz dolls reveal buy pinball machines all: my days are filled with hard work, all in the hopes of opening up glorious horizons to us all. Each day, instead of parading around in richly embroidered silk robes, I sit at my desk and research the wonders Spider Man help us cut through the veil and see our life from wider and wider angles.

I light my candles in their crystal holders, and I see energies that bring happiness and pain, solutions and confusions. Energies inspire me, because I know they can be cleansed and influenced, banished from where we don't need them and invited to where we do. I research ancient recipes in old Hungarian books that talk about purifying the forces around us, banishing darkness and heaviness from our lives, releasing dated emotions that still cling to us, and open channels that bring true love, purpose and enlightenment to us. I create combinations of healing baths, candles and essential oils based on the magical properties of herbs and the four cardinal elements (fire, air, water and earth), so that we rebalance our lives and live in harmony with the universe.

I synthesize all this knowledge in my energy packages that many of you already use and love, and in my books; well, the second one is in the making, filled to the brim with magic and with a deeper analysis of the cards. Each day, I assemble these packages and infuse them with the energies they need to carry.

Each day I proceed with my second book. Then, yes, each day I read the cards for the stray little lambs who are ready for answers and solutions. Reading the cards for people is very rewarding but not easy; it is a responsibility and it can be draining when the messages are resisted or misunderstood. But I do it, because every reading helps to open up doors we thought had been locked. Then, I write the articles for my daily blog you love so much. This is the tricky part: writing for an immediately responsive audience.

Often I have to put my own plans and ideas aside and let you lead me, so that the topics we cover speak to you on an immediate level. You are my audience and also my guide and I have to stay approachable, responsive and fluid. Then, I continue with my own research, which happens to be about the Lenormand cards and karmic astrology at the moment. Fresh perspectives make my personal mosaic of knowledge wider and wider, which it turn, makes me a stronger card reader. Then, I teach my Gypsy-Tarot classes at night for novice Gypsies who are eager to become well-seasoned readers with a terrifying raspy voice and a Hungarian accent. By the time this is all finished, it is late at night. While you are eating dinner, I am still working.

While you are watching Grey's Anatomy, I am still working. Did I mention that I don't have a TV because I would not have the time to watch it? And neither do I have the time to munch on bon-bons on my chaise-lounge. Although at times I wish I did.

Esther Gombor, a Hungarian-born romantic, has managed to finally dispel the mysteries surrounding her own life and everyone else's who has asked for her help. She is the author of the book: Fortune Telling with Gypsy cards; Dispel the Mysteries Surrounding Life and Romance. Her fabulous guide to reading illustrated fortune telling cards is the crystallized essence of her native Hungarian culture, her extensive traveling throughout Europe and her Master's degree in Italian Medieval and Renaissance literature. Although she lives in Toronto, Canada, where she writes, she spends most of her summers in her native country to keep on researching more secrets for her next book.
